Front Porch

Today Anjeanetta and I had lunch at this place in Murfreesboro called The Front Porch. It has been around since I was in high school and we thought it was a great choice. WRONG.

I knew that the restaurant had changed hands a couple of times; I did not know that the menu had changed so ridiculously. While Front Porch is known for the southern, old timey dishes and side items that made it a hugely popular lunch spot, these were absent from the menu.

Sadly, the newest owners somehow decided the wise decision would be to take the menu down to the following: chicken salad on wheat, pimento on wheat, Monte Cristo, BLT, one soup choice, about five salads to choose from and a list of sides that included such things as potato chips.

Keep in mind, this is a place that had me excited about either a chicken salad croissant or some homemade country vegtable sides.

Who ruins a popular restaurant by changing genres? The Front Porch is not known for being a tea room but instead has always been more like Sunday lunch at Grandma's house. Not anymore.

root canals

$626. REally! Without insurance it would have been just under $1800...and that was only two teeth. I did not actually need three root canals after all.

perplexing

What the heck is wrong with people these days? Why in the world are so many people killing their family members and why are so many people disappearing into thin air?

Is it an increase or do we just hear about it more?

There has been story after story of family murder suicides the past couple of months...most including the children of the murderer.

This si something that mystifies me and I can get caught up in looking up info online for hours. Particularly, I am captivated by the fact that people vanish. I just think it is the weirdest thing in the world that someone can just be removed from their surroundings to such an extent that no one can find them. On a familair, good, note, there don't seem to be nearly as many child abductions. It seems like there are only a few every now and then and those result in death. However, you never really hear anymore about childrem being abducted by some psycho wanting to raise said child.

WDW here we come...

Miles is super stoked about Disney World. Who can blame her?

The problem lies in the fact that we told her FIVE months in advance. Finally, though, we are down to two months and less than three weeks.

We start our trip with breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Castle. I can't wait!!
